Sadeqa Johnson is a Chesterfield County resident and author of several previously released romance novels. In January 2021, she published “The Yellow Wife,” a historical fiction novel based on the life of Mary Lumpkin, an enslaved woman, married to white owner of Lumpkin's Slave Jail. The book is one of O Magazine’s “2021 Most Anticipated Historical Fiction Novels.” Johnson will discuss the inspiration for the novel, her research and the discoveries she made along the way.
Registration is required and begins June 26.
