As they travel to his trading post in Saskatchewan, Canada, she forms friendships and enemies and ends up saving the lives of several Nakota women. This is the story of a young woman’s grit, survival and love for her husband and a window into a time long gone. The present-day family of Goes First gave permission for the author to write this story and shared information and family stories with her.
